Hotels near Strasbourg Christmas Market

Strasbourg is home to the oldest Christmas market in France. It’s also one of the most popular in all of Europe. Accommodation starts booking out as early as 12 months in advance. We recommend confirming your trip plans and itinerary as soon as possible to ensure finding a convenient place to stay. Hotels near Strasbourg Christmas Market

From the 26th of November until the end of December, almost the entirety of the Grande Île, Strasbourg’s historic city centre, is decorated in festive lights, decorations, Christmas trees. More than 300 wooden chalets sell arts and crafts along with food and drinks. The most popular Christmas markets are located on Place Kleber and in front of Strasbourg Cathedral. If you would like to stay within walking distance to the markets, then anywhere on the Grande Île, including the Petite France area would be ideal.

Located in the heart of historic Strasbourg, Hannong Hotel is 2 minutes from Place Kleber, 4 minutes to Petite France and 8 minutes to Strasbourg Cathedral. The hotel is a contemporary design hotel built on the site of an earthenware factory dating from the 18th century. The rooms are light and bright with a mix of contemporary and classic furniture. There is an in-house wine bar providing the perfect opportunity to try some regional wines.

Hotel Rohan
Address: 17-19, rue du Maroquin, Strasbourg, Alsace, France
There are some lovely boutique hotels in Strasbourg and I don’t think you’ll find one in a better location than Hotel Rohan. This 4-star hotel is located directly on Place de la Cathedral, the square that surrounds Strasbourg Cathedral and the location of one of the most traditional Christmas markets in Europe. If you want to stay near Strasbourg Christmas Market, choose this hotel. You might also want to experience a stay in a historic Alsatian building that has been renovated with stylish feature walls, bright colour schemes, warm timber floorboards and furnished with large, comfortable beds.

Le Nid De L’ill
Address: 3 Rue du Bain-aux-Plantes, Strasbourg
If you would prefer to stay in an apartment in Strasbourg, Le Nid De L’ill is located in the wonderfully romantic Petite France district. This is a historic area of the city surrounded by canals, narrow bridges and half-timbered houses. There are many cafes and restaurants in the area as well as the pretty Square des Moulins. Being based in this area, which is part of the Grande Île, means you’ll be within walking distance of most of the city’s main sights and attractions including the various Christmas markets. The clean and modern 1 bedroom apartment sleeps up to 4 adults so it’s great for groups and families.

Okko Hotels Strasbourg Centre
Address: 46, Rue du Bassin d’Austerlitz, Strasbourg
A highly reviewed budget hotel in Strasbourg isn’t easy to come by, especially during the Christmas period. If you’re looking for an affordable hotel, you might be better off staying just outside of the historic centre. Okko Hotel is in a newly redeveloped area of Strasbourg, not far from the university district. This might not be near the Christmas markets but it’s an affordable area, the hotel is new, clean with nice design features and it’s only a 20-minute walk to Strasbourg Cathedral.
