Bristol has a small Christmas market that includes a beautifully decorated tree, festive lights and events for family and friends. It’s a popular occasion for locals and those in the surrounding region. If you’re visiting from further away, you might need to book a night or two in local accommodation.
In this guide, I recommend several hotels near Bristol Christmas Market that are within walking distance of the Christmas festivities.
Hotels near Bristol Christmas Market
Bristol Christmas Market takes place at Broadmead in Bristol Shopping Quarter. Christmas stalls, the Bavarian Alpine bar and the private igloos are located in the streets and laneways in this pedestrian zone.
There are few hotels in this specific area of the city, but there are more options nearby in the Old City district towards Queen Square, or you could stay in the trendy Stokes Croft neighbourhood.
My top pick is located between Broadmead and the Old City.

Hotel du Vin BristolAddress: The Sugar House, Narrow Lewins Mead, Broadmead, Bristol
The nicest hotel in Bristol that is near the Christmas markets is Hotel du Vin. The hotel is located near the renovated docklands, a short 6-7 minute walk to Broadmead where the market takes place. This family-run boutique hotel is part of the historic 18th-century warehouses that have been repurposed as loft suites in an urban-industrial style. The breakfast is highly rated so be sure to enjoy it while you’re there. The hotel wine bar is perfect for wine enthusiasts.

Budget Hotel in Bristol
Hampton by Hilton Bristol City Centre
Address: Bond Street, Bristol, UK
Highly-rated budget hotels in Bristol are more difficult to come by. If you don’t mind staying in a chain hotel, the Hampton by Hilton is an excellent choice as it has comfortable rooms that are close to Cabot Circus and the nearby Christmas markets. The hotel avoids using single-use plastic, including miniature shampoo bottles and water-efficient showers installed in the bathrooms.
Apartment Stay
Central Located One Bedroom Apt
Address: 42 High Street, Flat 1, Bristol
An apartment stay is another affordable option in Bristol. There are a few options near the Christmas markets, but I recommend the 1-bedroom apartment at 42 High Street. This well-reviewed, modern apartment is only a few minutes from Broadmead’s shopping area and is next to St Nicholas Market, a popular food stall market and other attractions like St Peter’s Church and Castle Park. The 65 sqm apartment is very clean, tidy and fully equipped.
Luxury Hotel
The Bristol Hotel
Address: Prince Street, Bristol
For a more traditional, luxury hotel in Bristol, you can’t go past the Bristol Hotel, which is located close to many of the city’s sights, attractions, museums and cultural venues. This is one of the best hotels in Bristol, and the location is brilliant for visiting the city.
