Winter in Bath is a great time for a festive holiday where you can experience the city’s famous Roman baths, historic Bath Abbey and Pulteney Bridge amongst many other attractions. One of the highlights of Bath at this time of the year is the Christmas markets but this year, only a small number of Christmas stalls will line the streets with the full Bath Christmas Market returning next year.

The Christmas markets in Bath have been cancelled in 2021 not only due to the pandemic but also as a result of Brexit shortages, including a shortage of security staff. Bath in December 2021 will instead involve a number of local traders opening stalls along Kingston Parade and Abbey Green.

Surrounded by some of the best cafes, restaurants and bars in Bath, The Z Hotel is only 5 minutes from the Roman Baths and the festive decorations on Kingston Parade. The rooms are simple and clean but might be on the small side for some people. Some rooms don’t have windows so read the room description carefully before you book. These rooms are cheaper though so it depends on what your priorities are.

No.15 Great Pulteney Hotel might not be as close to the Christmas markets as you would like but it’s a wonderful, luxury hotel that is less than a 10-minute walk to Bath Abbey and the Christmas events. This is one of Bath’s most unique hotels, known for its excellent service, high standards and quiet location near Pulteney Bridge.
